 Unlucky 13th for Caldecott 15/10/2008
Ashton United Manager Danny Johnson has confirmed that Danny Caldecott fractured his jaw in three places during the UniBond Premier League clash with Nantwich Town and has had an operation to stabilise and repair the injury. The game, Caldecott's 13th league outing of the season, fell on October the 13th!
Everyone connected with Ashton will be wishing 'DC' a speedy recovery - the player has suffered for the cause this season having missed much of pre-season with injury he then suffering a nasty eye injury in the game against Prescot last month.
Ashton started that match against Prescot with eight ever-presents in their starting XI; only Haydn Eames, who ironically missed much of last season through injury, has the opportunity to maintain his ever-present status for Ashton's next league match with Worksop Town, such has been Ashton's luck with injury and suspension recently.
